Our story

Summer shopping at Waddesdon

If you are yet to visit Waddesdon and the Manor Shop this year, now is the time to come and discover the beautiful selection of products, new in store this season.

Carefully selected ranges take inspiration from all aspects of Waddesdon including the collection, the house and the gardens. There has also been a shift in emphasis towards environmentally friendly materials, shown in high quality, ethical products made by real artisans with a level of care and attention synonymous with Waddesdon.

Bamboo
Urban Nature Culture combines a love for design and a love for the planet with tableware made from bamboo, the most renewable resource available.  Choose between leafy patterns or striking blue and white plates featuring Mandala’s and a hand-dyed design using the ancient Japanese dyeing technique of Shiburi. Lightweight and stylish, this tableware would be perfect for a glam picnic, with the added bonus that all the bamboo products are dishwasher safe!

Weaver Green
Discover this gorgeous range of rugs, cushions and bags made from textiles hand loomed by skilled craftsmen in safe and fair weaving houses. Hard wearing, yet with the soft feel of wool; the surprising twist behind these products – the textiles are made from recycled plastic bottles! Founders of Weaver Green, Tasha and Barney, put a lot of work into developing a practical yet aesthetic solution for some of the 35 million plastic bottles that end up in our seas and landfills every year.

Bohemia
Inject a little boho chic into your outfits and home with Bohemia’s tote bags, shoppers, storage baskets and planters.  Bohemia seeks to aid artisan producers and develop secure employment for those preserving traditional crafts; these baskets are hand woven by Moroccan artisans using palm leaf fibre.  Offering a stylish alternative to plastic or non-biodegradable materials, each basket is unique in its character dependant on the weaver who created it.

Jewellery
Find stunning pieces inspired by nature from Glover & Smith and Amanda Coleman; both hand make all their pieces in the UK using traditional methods and a flawless attention to detail.
In addition we have earrings from Just Trade, a company that partners with small fair trade projects across the world in countries such as India and Peru, bracelets and chokers from Hot Tomato for those with a taste for sparkle, and much more…

Yarty Cordials

Choose from a selection of delicious cordials and vinegars from Yarty Cordials, made using old family recipes created by chief producer Jayne’s great grandmother Mabel, once a freelance cook to nobility and royalty, including the Rothschild family!  Today the tried and tested recipes, and new creations, are still hand-produced in small batches from the finest fruit carefully sourced locally to the Yarty Valley.  Enjoy simply as a refreshing cordial or experiment with fruity summer cocktails.

All of this before even mentioning our ranges of the Waddesdon inspired products that you won’t find anywhere else; inspired by the stunning collections and exhibitions housed in this Buckinghamshire chateau.  Alongside the Manor Shop, the Wine Shop houses the largest collection of Rothschild wines for sale under one roof, award-winning guest wines and spirits and our exclusive gins.
